old people

Have you ever realized how truly old the elderly are? The thought hadn't even crossed my mind until my friend Julius mentioned it last night. how you ever thought about what there life was like? They were alive for World War II. They were alive for Hitler. They were alive for a small chuck of history we now learn about it school. They remember when John F. Kennedy got shot. They remember when African Americans didn't have any rights. Its such a weird thing to ponder. Most people just think that when an old person talks it must be nonsense but if u actually stop to listen to what they have to say you could learn something you never knew before. They've lived through the decades. Some can honestly say they've done all the crazy drugs and its not worth it. Some are still messed up from it. Each person is a story and every day, more and more pages get added. Our books are probably only a few thousands of pages long while theirs is tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands. its mind blowing. the elderly really are ancient people and deserve more respect then they get sometimes. next time you speak to a grandparents or someone older then their 60's ask them what it was like for them growing up, then open you mind and listen.

Ive tried my hardest to avoid the fact that summer is over and winter is finally here but waking up Saturday morning totally crushed my spirit. The air was so icy that each breath was like inhaling icicles. My cheeks instantly flared up with color as thought they were kissed by jack frost himself. The dark clouds stood out against the grey Sky and cried down on the world below. Thanks to a promised made to a friend to company her to the Cherokee game i suited up from an adventure. i felt like an onion with all my layers on but i new once i got outside it would all be worth it. By the time i left my house the temperature had struck low enough so the first snow had started to quietly flutter down. Our two-some evolved into a three-some and then the real expedition began. The wind and slow mixed with a bit of hail fought us every step of the way. Most of the walk was full of hostility towards mother nature along with some jokes to lighten the situation. Not even half way to our destination and we were already fed-up. We dipped of into the warmth of our friends house without another thought. We stripped off as many soaking wet layers as we could without venturing into being inappropriate. I don't know about my companions but the sudden heat filled my fingers and toes with a tingling sensation as if getting poked by pins and needles. Outside the window we watched the weather rage with a new force that we had thankfully avoided. I give credit to all those who made it to the game and stood out in the wretched weather to support our chiefs. GO CHEROKEE!
